Chex Mix

chex-mixI just love Chex Mix. It’s been a holiday tradition for as long as I can remember, and always reminds me of my father. Dad was in charge of few things in the kitchen: Grilling, Sandwiches, Cleanup, & Chex Mix. I never asked how it came to be associated with the holidays. Maybe because it does take some time, or maybe because it’s so hard to stop eating this stuff that it’s dangerous to one’s health to make it more often than once a year! It’s quite simple, and variations on the recipe abound. This is my version (sorry, Dad, I don’t use peanuts in mine – they always just drop to the bottom of the bowl.) It’s supposed to make enough for a party – good luck with that. I always make a double batch, & still have trouble saving enough for company! You’ll find a printer-friendly version at the bottom of the page.
